On Sunday at Evanston Bible Fellowship, we will continue our mini-series of “The 7 Deadly Sins” from the book of Proverbs. So far, we have covered Pride, Envy, Wrath, and Sloth. This Sunday we will look at “Lust,” which I am sure will be one of the most intense and hard-hitting sermons thus far.
We will anchor ourselves in Proverbs chapter 5, and Pastor Jason will help us explore what Proverbs has to say about lust, passion, sexuality, identity, and purity.
Songs we will sing together will focus first on who God is and His passionate love for us (Furious, Great I Am, Before the Throne of God Above), and then will allow us to respond by recommitting ourselves to God (Only You), asking God to purify our sin-soaked hearts (White As Snow), and longing to find our true joy and satisfaction in the person and work of Jesus Christ (What Joy Is Found).
